Quiet Cone International Pty Ltd are seeking people with an awareness of what the universe has to offer, to apply for a franchise in their area or in a location they may be considering a move to.
The Quiet Cone offers a significant ongoing potential for franchisees who share the vision of the Company. As a stand alone business or as a means of value-adding to an existing tourism outlet, the potential for earning is quietly spectacular.
A very limited number of Franchise and Master Quiet Cone Franchise Licenses are now available to selected operators who can demonstrate an affinity with the product and the market.
Each Master Franchise holder will be allocated an exclusive territory, which they can then divide into a number of franchises. Depending on the location and population, the number of franchises sold in each territory will vary, but two things will remain constant - the excellent potential return on investment and the introduction of a very popular facility.
The Quiet Cone franchise is well suited to those areas where hectic lifestyles, the pressures of work and family, traffic and other factors cause stress and tension. In cities or in places where the population needs to escape the rush of city life, a Quiet Cone is ideal for stress release and calming meditation. Similarly as a bonus to a tourist region it knows no equal in providing an extremely unique relaxing and very affordable experience.
Experience has shown that up to 40% of sales will be from repeat visitors (in non tourist locations), and many regular Quiet Cone customers will 'bulk buy', purchasing a package of sessions or gift vouchers to give to friends or family.
In addition to the Quiet Cone experience, franchisees can expect to profit from the sale associated products, including CDs of gonging, the didgeridoo music, natural oils and essences, a range of sandalwood based health and body care products, and other souvenirs and assorted merchandise.
The Cone and its facilities can be utilised between sessions for a variety of purposes, including private meetings, workshops, seminars, health related activities such as yoga and Pilates, and various other relaxation programs. The Quiet Cone has already proven its success in the corporate realm being used for team building exercises and company supported stress relief programs.

We recommend a visit to the Quiet Cone Headquarters in Perth, Western Australia, as part of your decision making process, where you will not only see the Cone, but experience a session and meet the people behind the Quiet Cone – Peter & Lynn McIntosh. You may also wish to visit the newest 10 metre cone in Latrobe, Tasmania to view the standards we believe are necessary to ensure a viable operation.
Generally everything that is required to commence a turnkey business is provided apart from the foundations which depend on the terrain selected and create a variable cost. Once you have signed a Confidentiality Agreement a complete list of what is provided and what are the options will be disclosed. The only other real variation applies when the new Cone Operators deems it worthwhile to include either heating or cooling for their local conditions. Both applications are installed quite simply and can also be done during the erection or after completion - usually air-conditioning or under-floor heating.
Whilst the standard colour is white, we recognise that variations on that colour maybe more appropriate for certain operators and locations. A limited range of colorbond colours will be made available at an additional cost; however any variation to the standard colour scheme must be approved by Quite Cone International.
Yes, although an allowance has been made within the price for a construction component. In some locations it may not be commercially viable to erect the cone by QCI due to travel costs unless an additional arrangement is negotiated, similarly, if you choose to erect the Cone yourself, the construction component will be deducted from the price.
The design and patent pending locking system is such that four capable handymen (including a carpenter preferred) could erect the cone, and a simple, easy to follow construction manual can be supplied. An electrician will be required to connect the Cone to mains power and install the sound system. The main area of concern is always the foundations for which the franchisee is responsible for. Should you want to build the cone on flat ground a straight forward concrete foundation is suggested, however if building on a slope then a steel pillar & post decking needs to be constructed for which plans are available. If you choose to erect your Cone yourself the construction fee will be deducted from the price.
Quiet Cones have been designed to comply with Australian Standards Building Codes, and each franchise will come with a set of plans suitable for Council Application purposes. However, each potential Franchisee will need to obtain their own required permits, and to check with local authorities to ensure full compliance. It is possible a registered builder will be required to oversee the building of the cone in some states as the value of the building exceeds $20,000. These can usually be sourced for a nominal sum to complete or supervise the program. It is also possible in most states to build the cone as an Owner/builder providing you have not recently done any other building under this rule.
The returns possible will vary with local conditions, populations, the availability of complimentary products and services, and much more. Therefore, whilst Quiet Cone International will provide indicative numbers based on existing operations, no guarantees will be given on any particular site or operation. With the right location and reasonable promotional activities, it is anticipated that the cost of the franchise could be recovered within the first year.
A standard admission fee throughout the network is preferred, however, this will be discussed at initial meeting.
There is no standard formula for success, and this really depends on operator preference, comfort and locations. Consider the availability of such services in the immediate area, the capacity of your chosen site to accommodate a business of this nature, and the local standards and regulations. It is important to assess the value of combining the retail outlet because retail operations do require more working capital and resources, however they can also attract further visitor interest and revenue to the site.
QCI will be continually monitoring franchise outlets for opportunities that may be introduced. There is intent to introduce a range of pure and natural oils and body care products associated with the Cone’s 'essential oil experience'. This will be a gradual introduction and demand driven against growth within the network. People visiting this attraction often look for a memento, especially when attracting tourists.
Highly likely. The Quiet Cones have been used by groups undertaking a variety of activities from new and full moon nights, didgeridoo performances, health workshops, fire walking, sound healing experiences, corporate think tank sessions, spiritual group meetings through to quiet meditation on an individual basis. The opportunities are endless and given the internal size of the 10 metre cone, this type of space is suitable to all types of groups and especially appealing to anything associated with the Wellness Industry.
This depends on how many sessions a day are held, and on how many days. A suggested introductory format is for 2 to 3 sessions a day. One in the morning prior to lunch, one after lunch and another in the evening. If yours is a seven day operation, then a minimum of two gongers would be required, possibly with a relief third person for back-up. It is also possible to run back to back sessions with assistance from another Gong Master who can also rotate the performances and take the pressure off an individual. Each Gong Master then has time to interact with their visitors for pre & post briefings. The briefings add value (time and information) to the visitors and helps overcome any misgivings or misconceptions (pre-session) and provides an opportunity afterwards to build further rapport with visitors. This post session time is also an ideal time to promote future events or workshops.
Gong Masters are normally people whose main skill base is an understanding of human behaviour. The gong can have a profound effect on people, and the Gong Master needs to be aware and sympathetic to these outcomes. Although no formal qualification is required, a good understanding of relaxation techniques is advantageous as is a sense of rhythm association with gong playing. A Gong Master also needs to be physically fit. Good gonging technique comes from a caring heart. If you identify potential gong masters, the Quiet Cone Company can provide the training required to hone their innate skills.
This depends on the outlet. Conceivably, the business (in early days or if small) could be managed by the Gong Master. Times would be advertised, bookings taken for sessions, meet and greet, fee collection and preparation and clean up. The Senior Gong Master could also co-ordinate other gongers and their training and other skills that help build the business to one of a personal, yet professional operation. In the event you have a retail outlet, this can either be another Gong Master (preferable), or someone to attend to all the retail issues. A family can be ideal as they could all participate in the various duties and returns and be prepared to totally support the rest of the team.
