INTUITIVE PAINTING - Painting From The Heart by Lynn McIntosh

 19th June   9:30am - 4:00pm;  24th July [Sat]         

We are not seeking artists, however if you are a little creative and have an open mind it is an advantage. Learn with Lynn to create beautiful pieces of art using different techniques and mediums.

Starting with an introduction and meditation you are then encouraged to prepare your paints and canvases before going down to the cone for a special session. This unique experience in the Quiet Cone will help provide and inspire you with the images and colours for your day of intuitive painting.

The workshop will be held in the large well lit and airy reception rooms at the Parkerville retreat within a wonderful bushland setting.

 The Moon

The Moon is the Earth's only natural satellite, the  Moon travels around the Earth once every month (29 days approx)—the word "month" derives from "moon". This monthly orbit creates the phases of the Moon, as she travels from "New", when the Moon is aligned with the Sun, to "Full" when the Moon opposes the Sun and back again.

Speaking more esoterically, the Moon rules the older, deeply set patterns of behaviour, the habits we so naturally fall into. The Moon governs the emotional personality and gives a good picture of the way our thoughts are influenced by our emotions and our subconscious. 

The most visible symbol of feminine energy in the solar system is the Moon. Because it reflects the light from the sun, the pale orb in the night sky has come to represent a woman's reflective nature, her internalised response to the world. Indigenous people usually refer to the moon as 'Grandmother Moon' and she is deeply significant in their cultures. During our Moon sessions at the Quiet Cone we pay our respects to Grandmother Moon during a Shamanic Aura Cleansing Ceremony for her gifts to the earth and it's people.

Moon Phases

Waxing - the moon is growing larger in the sky, moving from a narrow crescent just after the new moon towards the full moon. The waxing moon grows from right to left and is called the 'right-hand moon' - the crescent is like the curve between the right-hand's index finger and thumb.

Full Moon - The moon when it is visible as a fully illuminated disk

Waning - the moon is decreasing in size, moving from the full moon back towards a crescent as the new moon approaches. The waning moon decreases from right to left and is called the 'left-hand moon' because of its similarity to the curve on the left hand.

New Moon - the time at which the moon appears as a narrow waxing crescent. At this time, the illuminated half of the Moon faces directly toward the Sun, and the dark or unilluminated portion of the Moon faces directly toward Earth, so that the Moon is invisible as seen from Earth.

Gibbous - during the phases between the First Quarter and the full moon, and between the full moon and the Last Quarter, when more than half of the disc is illuminated.

Held on the NEW MOON every month.

These evenings are full of interest in the coming month by celebrating the start of a new moon and all that is promised.

The new moon occurs when the sun and moon are in conjunction, occupying the same part of the sky from the viewpoint of earth. During this time the moon doesn't reflect the light of the sun, and so cannot be seen (except during a solar eclipse). The moon's non-illuminated side is facing the earth yet like a Full Moon when it is again closest to the Earth and exerting it's mystical energy on all of us.

This is a time of growing energy, newness, rejuvenation, growth, renewal and hope. It is a good point to make changes in your life, such as ending bad habits or relationships.

You are invited on arrival to select a complimentary Crystal to accompany you on the night and to take home. Many people select their favourite Chakra colours without even being aware of it.

The relevance of the stone selection is told to you by our Gongmasters with often very interesting observations. Another special feature of the evening is the Native American Indian Cleansing ceremony before the experience in the cone.

This beautiful ceremony is a great way to start the evening with a very interesting spiritual introduction to the new moon.

The experience in the cone with the playing of the beautiful Gongs and the other instruments (Wind Gong, Tubular Bells, Hoop-drum, Rainstick, Ocean drum, Ting Sha bells and sometimes the wonderful Didgeridoo) will take you to another space and an experience that brings visitors back time and again.

Following the session a discussion over drinks & nibbles at the reception room is enjoyed where Lynn introduces you in how to develop your 'wish list' for the month. This is an interesting exercise and complimented by Lynn's astrological observations about the opportunities or awareness issues of the coming lunar month.

The sessions start at 7:00pm (arrive at 6:45)  and the cost is only $40 for the evening. Sorry no concessions.

These nights are celebrating the FULL MOON'S appearance.

A full moon is a very significant time for many people and especially women with the influence of the moon on us and everything around about.

This is the time when the moon's energy is strongest (closest to Earth) and purportedly of significant mystical effects.

There is a lot to discover about your own astrological star sign and the special effects you may expect to experience at that very eventful time of the month. We will disclose all this on your return to the reception room.

On arrival you will be offered a Crystal from a selection to accompany you on the night and to take home.The Chakra relevance of the stone selection is told to you by our Gongmasters with often very interesting observations.

Once again due to the popularity of the Native American Indian Cleansing ceremony, this will be held around the small fire prior to the session in the cone to give thanks to Grandmother Moon.

The Full Moon Experiences within the cone are always popular as the energy levels are often higher at this time of the month than normal, and can sometimes have a profound effect on the sounds from the gongs. These nights are usually on a more spiritual level reflecting the time of the month and the activities on the night.

Following the session a discussion over drinks & nibbles at the reception room is enjoyed where Lynn shares her astrological observations about the opportunities or awareness issues of the coming lunar month and how it relates to the next 60 hours when the Full Moon is in it's particular astrological sign

Last year......

'It was an evening of energy, vibrations and powerful sounds all focusing on creating a wonderful healing environment!’

Last year we had Richard Walley the internationally famous and local Didgeridoo player joining us with his son & nephew, Olman & Philip, who are also accomplished Didge and tapping stick/boomerang players. They also performed  some of their inspiring  traditional Nyoongar tribal dances to the enthralling music.

Cherokee Bobby Running Fox and his son Mivan came to Perth especially for the concert and entertained us with their singing, native flute and Pow Wow drum playing and performing many beautiful Indian Dances.

Steven Browne lead us again on his awesome POW Wow drum with some great combinations with Bobby and Richard to truly demonstrate the incredible energy of these combined instruments!

The Quiet Cone team and friends introduced many Gongs on the night with the breathtaking amplified sounds of some individually played Gongs and the raw energy of the massed group.

 A totally new sacred circle setup was in place with a central stage, and special lighting and sound effects to ensure everyone experienced the complete sound and vibrational healing effects of the concert. This didn't prove as effective as we had hoped but was a great learning experience.

Once again we held the event on the sprung wooden basketball courts, so visitors could experience this fabulous event lying down on a yoga-type mat, or sitting on one of the surrounding chairs.

For those early arrivals John Whife and his team from Danuih Herbs  offered the opportunity to participate in an Aura Cleansing White Sage Smudging. He also be sold some of his aromatic smudge sticks and other wonderful Herbal sprays and effects.

As with our 5 concerts, we  were later told a number of wonderful releases and rejuvenating experiences amongst many in the audience had taken place. Some were incredibly moving and enthralling for those receiving them.

It can happen to anyone, frequencies and energies –  what an amazing combination!

Many people brought their own drums along for the New Moon Drumming session. This part of the concert is probably one of the most emotional moments of the night as all participate in this energetic, exciting and very moving time.

Many CD’s, and wonderful mementos of the event were also offered for sale over the night

So many expressed their enjoyment of an unforgettable night and loved the opportunity to receive the ancient sounds of early cultures played from the heart by numerous performers.

At only $45 for the entire evening, it was great value and with almost $10,000 in profits going to our wonderful charities, it was  one of our most memorable occasions for 2009.
