Joint workshops with Steven Browne from Universal Healing

Native American Flute and Tai Lo Gongs instructional day.

Full Day workshop at Parkerville learning how to play and respect the beautiful Native American Indian Flute,  and the wonderful Tai Lo Swiss Symphonic Gongs. You will have hands on experience with both instruments from masters of these wonderful vibrational and spiritual tools during the day.

The workshop includes a beautiful new handmade flute in the cost of the day. The content of the event will involve the history; care; respect; maintenance of the instruments and also covers how the vibrations achieve such amazing and emotional sounds. You learn what to do before playing them and how to manifest the sounds you are seeking to produce. The opportunity will be there to hear the flutes played in the Quiet Cone and to achieve a greater understanding of their effects on people.

Lunch and afternoon tea provided and the event is scheduled for the Saturday 6th December. Total cost is $160 including Flute, and refreshments. If you have your own flute call us and we will offer a discount. A 50% deposit on booking is required

Making a Medicine wheel and applying it in your own life - Saturday 10th January 2009  - Full Moon Time

This will be a day of fulfillment and joy as you come to understand the age old tradition of creating, appreciating and experiencing the Medicine Wheel!

Led by instructor – Healer Steven Browne, you will learn all about the design, intentions, contents, significance and the amazing creation of energy transference.  We will build a large new Medicine Wheel on an Energy Centre  at Parkerville with your participation. Afterwards you will create your own portable Medicine Wheel to take home with you and apply it where you will now know is the correct location or space.

This is quite a Spiritual day so come prepared for an extra-ordinary experience!

Lunch,afternoon tea and a session in the Quiet Cone will be provided and a date in January will be confirmed once we receive an indication of a preferred day. The cost is $160 with a 50% deposit on booking required

 Further Workshops and events

We have been approached by a number of people wanting to hold introductory and complete workshops at our Parkerville property, so will be doing a schedule up soon to tell you all about them for 2009. If any of you are interested in joining these workshops as either presenters or attendees, please contact us on info@quietcone.com . We ask only of presenters that the  intent you are looking to share is associated with healing, sound or colour.  These workshops will also be low cost so all can attend and will be held on weekends.

Some of these will include:

‘Meet the healers and learn how to become one’, an introduction into many different modalities where you get to meet the various instructors and can then make your own decision if you want to proceed with one or more. A 5 hour session with time to chat to the presenters on a one on one basis.

‘How to experience “Magical Moments “ in using Sound Instruments for healing’, if you have your own instrument and you wish to learn more about them in the art of healing or to witness other instruments and then make a choice, this day is for you. Once again an introduction to assist you in your decision making and taking approximately 5 hours.

Learn the many ways of successful MEDITATION.

Too often we are told we should MEDITATE and then become confused over the best way to do.

 The many differing ways will be demonstrated and you will have the opportunity to try these. Some are with music, others through breathing techniques, some even by walking, this is the opportunity to find the answers you may have sought for a long time. This will be an afternoon workshop.

All our workshops are finished with a beautifully relaxing, yet rejuvenating time in the Quiet Cone for a session.

 The Moon

The Moon is the Earth's only natural satellite, the  Moon travels around the Earth once every month (29 days approx)—the word "month" derives from "moon". This monthly orbit creates the phases of the Moon, as she travels from "New", when the Moon is aligned with the Sun, to "Full" when the Moon opposes the Sun and back again.

Speaking more esoterically, the Moon rules the older, deeply set patterns of behaviour, the habits we so naturally fall into. The Moon governs the emotional personality and gives a good picture of the way our thoughts are influenced by our emotions and our subconscious. 

The most visible symbol of feminine energy in the solar system is the Moon. Because it reflects the light from the sun, the pale orb in the night sky has come to represent a woman's reflective nature, her internalised response to the world. Indigenous people usually refer to the moon as 'Grandmother Moon' and she is deeply significant in their cultures. During our Moon sessions at the Quiet Cone we pay our respects to Grandmother Moon during a Shamanic Aura Cleansing Ceremony for her gifts to the earth and it's people.

Moon Phases

Waxing - the moon is growing larger in the sky, moving from a narrow crescent just after the new moon towards the full moon. The waxing moon grows from right to left and is called the 'right-hand moon' - the crescent is like the curve between the right-hand's index finger and thumb.

Full Moon - The moon when it is visible as a fully illuminated disk

Waning - the moon is decreasing in size, moving from the full moon back towards a crescent as the new moon approaches. The waning moon decreases from right to left and is called the 'left-hand moon' because of its similarity to the curve on the left hand.

New Moon - the time at which the moon appears as a narrow waxing crescent. At this time, the illuminated half of the Moon faces directly toward the Sun, and the dark or unilluminated portion of the Moon faces directly toward Earth, so that the Moon is invisible as seen from Earth.

Gibbous - during the phases between the First Quarter and the full moon, and between the full moon and the Last Quarter, when more than half of the disc is illuminated.

Held on the NEW MOON every month.

These evenings are full of interest in the coming month by celebrating the start of a new moon and all that is promised.

The new moon occurs when the sun and moon are in conjunction, occupying the same part of the sky from the viewpoint of earth. During this time the moon doesn't reflect the light of the sun, and so cannot be seen (except during a solar eclipse). The moon's un-illuminated side is facing the earth.

This is a time of growing energy, newness, rejuvenation, growth, renewal and hope. It is a good point to make changes in your life, such as ending bad habits or relationships.

You are invited on arrival to select a complimentary Crystal to accompany you on the night and to take home. Many people select their favoured Chakra colours without even being aware of it.

The relevance of the stone selection is told to you by our Gongmasters with often very interesting observations. Another special feature of the evening is the Native American Indian Cleansing ceremony before the experience in the cone.

This beautiful ceremony is a great way to start the evening with a very interesting spiritual introduction to the new moon.

The experience in the cone with the playing of the beautiful Gongs and the other instruments (Wind Gong, Tubular Bells, Hoop-drum and Ting Sha bells) will take you to another space and an experience that brings visitors back time and again.

Following the session a discussion over drinks & nibbles at the reception room is enjoyed where Lynn introduces you in how to develop your 'wish list' for the month. This is an interesting exercise and complimented by Lynn's astrological observations about the opportunities or awareness issues of the coming lunar month.

The sessions start at 8pm  and the cost is only $30 for the evening.

These nights are celebrating the FULL MOON'S appearance.

A full moon is a very significant time for many people and especially women with the influence of the moon on us and everything around about.

This is the time when the moon's energy is strongest and purportedly of significant magical effects.

There is a lot to discover about your own astrological star sign and the special effects you may expect to experience at that very eventful time of the month. We will disclose all this on your return to the reception room.

On arrival you will be offered a Crystal from a selection to accompany you on the night and to take home.The Chakra relevance of the stone selection is told to you by our Gongmasters with often very interesting observations.

Once again due to the popularity of the Native American Indian Cleansing ceremony, this will be held around the small fire prior to the session in the cone to give thanks to Grandmother Moon.

The Full Moon Experiences within the cone are always popular as the energy levels are often higher at this time of the month than normal, and can sometimes have a profound effect on the sounds from the gongs. These nights are usually on a more spiritual level reflecting the time of the month and the activities on the night.

Following the session a discussion over drinks & nibbles at the reception room is enjoyed where Lynn shares her astrological observations about the opportunities or awareness issues of the coming lunar month and how it relates to the next 60 hours when the Full Moon is in it's particular astrolocal sign

Once again a truly memorable evening and one that attracts our regulars every month.

'MASS SOUND HEALING CONCERT' ~ PERTH & SYDNEY  

The Perth & Sydney concerts were both wonderful experiences and a total success with the congratulatory emails and calls flooding in over Easter and the following weeks.

The crowds turned out in large numbers in Perth for the concerts with a special emphasis this year with the Autumn Equinox falling on the same date. Don Conreaux from New york and his European entourage entertained all in their own unique styles and provided even more variety in instruments, chanting and toning than 2007. Mojka also performed her dancing with the Gong - such an amazing skill and created a range of beautiful sounds.

After the introduction of Peter McIntosh of the Quiet Cone (sponsors & organisers) the concerts started off with the almost hypnotic chanting of Sa & Claudio and introduced a truly Spiritual element into the concert.

Following their inspiring performance all the Gongmasters from around Australia gave an awesome opening to the Concerts with the playing of almost 30 gongs together. The vibrations from all these gongs had the desired effect and for most of the audience laying down on Yoga mats the sensations were incredible.

Richard Walley picked up from that outpouring of sound with one of his own very special displays of Didgeridoo playing that had the audience in raptures. Once again the vibrations through the hall was truly magnificent and many people experienced wonderful emotional releases from both of these performances!

Don and his team then enthralled the crowd with their renditions and singing combining from time to time with Richard and the Gongmasters.

After intermission the night came alive with the Full Moon Drumming! The audience around Steve was invited to join him in creating the beat that had many of the crowd feeling they were experiencing some type of past life happening, and showing their reaction with Indian calls and dancing.

After about 15 minutes everyone collapsed back on their mats or chairs quite exhausted, yet totally exhilarated by this Full Moon Drumming experience.

The rest of the evening was a continuation of the playing of the gongs, didgeridoo and all the other amazing Sound Healing instruments. The singing and chanting added an etheral atmosphere to the night and everyone went away looking forwarding to next year.

Sydney was a similar event with the fabulous Peace Choir  and Dr Didge replacing some of the Perth performers.

Workshops were held in both Perth and Sydney with over 25 people attending each and going away at the end of the day with a wealth of knowledge about the Sound Healing Instruments and how to interact with them.

Over $8,000 has been raised for Bali Crisis Care with many people attending the concerts reported some amazing releases. audio introduced the drums with Steve on his awesome Pow Wow Drum and Badger & Beck (Leeming only) on their new Earth drums, soon the drumming had everyone on their feet rocking to the primal beats of these age old instruments. Before long those who had brought along their own Hoop Drums soon joined in and the energy was electric with almost everyone grinning, smiling or laughing with the exhilaration they were feeling.
